You know when you go to the store looking for dish soap and are suddenly confronted with dozens of options and are forced to spend way too long making a decision about which type is right for you? That's how I feel about sofa shopping. With so many options on the market, it's always felt like an overwhelming and time-consuming process, to say the least. Given just a handful of choices, I could easily select the sofa that's right for me, but when there are countless websites to browse and styles to consider, I get stumped.

For context: I definitely don't buy a new couch every time I move, but the lovely piece that I had been using in my last place would have been way too large for my new apartment's living room. So off I went searching from scratch, visiting all of my go-to furniture websites — browsing both new and secondhand pieces — but nothing felt right. I'll just check out one more place for today, I thought to myself, typing the World Market URL into my browser. Well, y'all, this was the move because World Market ended up as the place where I found my winning selection, the Leanna Tufted Loveseat.

First of all, the price couldn't be beat — the $499.99 price tag was already incredible for such a substantial piece of furniture, and I was able to sign up for a "new member" discount code for 15 percent off. Win-win! Also, the piece was one of the few I encountered and actually liked that wasn't on back-order. While some people are more than okay waiting weeks or even months for the right piece to arrive at their doorstep, I sit on my sofa so frequently throughout the work day and evening; it's where I write, dine, watch TV, read, etc. Therefore, I wanted one that would ship out as soon as possible, and I'm happy to report this piece came in a matter of weeks.

In terms of the actual design, I fell in love with the chic camel color and the loveseat's size. As wonderful as a traditional sofa is for splaying out on solo or watching movies with friends, a standard size piece, like the one I owned pre-move, just would have looked too oversized in my tiny New York City living room. Plus, as many small-space dwellers probably understand, I spend so little time lounging with friends in my own apartment. With so many parks, restaurants, coffee shops, and bars located centrally in New York, it's rare that I meet up with a group of people at someone's home, especially in pandemic times. Thus, when thinking about seating, I primarily focused on my day-to-day needs, and this petite piece fit the bill perfectly.

There's a reason this loveseat has so many rave reviews on the World Market site: It's comfortable, on-trend, and comes in two fun colors — the camel, which I purchased, and a moody rust (which appears to be currently unavailable online but may be at your local store). The velvet fabric is sophisticated looking but durable, too. I've owned other velvet sofas that really weren't meant to be sat on all day, every day, and the fabric just was too thin to support regular use. This sofa has changed my mind about velvet for the better. I'm also a fan of the tapered legs with their fun, gold trim.

While sofas and loveseats have a reputation for being ultra costly and having long lead times, I'm so glad that I was able to find a piece that spoke to me, helped get my apartment decorating on track (check out a glimpse above), and didn't break the bank. Talk about a triple threat!
